The primary role of the position is to conceptualize new, modified, or improved constructionequipment concepts through digital and analog sketching, cad modeling of sketched concepts, production of photorealistic renderings and / oranimations of those concepts, and production of both scale and full-size models, mockups, prototypes of design concepts. As a designer you will promote the industrial design department throughout the various business segments that comprise the corporation and be the champion of industrial design within the multiple cross functional new product development teams you work with. The ideal candidate will have an eye for aesthetic design and proportions while also having the necessaryskillsto take designs from sketched concept to production with the aid of cutting-edge digital technologies.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Self-driven and able to design with minimal supervision new or modified vehicle concepts or components to support engineers and designers on the overall vehicle design that will meet or exceed customer expectations and helpJLG Corporation remain an industry leader in equipment design.

  • Experience developing user interfaces, HMI on consumer goods, automotive, or heavy equipment at intersection of physical and digital products

  • Produce design deliverablesfor new or existing designs including concept sketches, cad models, photorealistic renderings, product animations, 3d printed scale models, full scale mockups and prototypes

  • Supportregular engineering design reviews, internal and external marketing reviews, and supplier reviews as part of the design development process.

  • Develop and deliver clear, persuasive design presentations

  • Aid in the production of executive presentations focused on new product development

  • Develop, organize, facilitate design reviews, design research events, development meetings

  • Communicate effectively on a team-possessing good organizational skills and self-discipline to meet deadlines.

  • Maintain a positive attitude when required to be flexible regarding design outcomes, work priorities, and needed level of effort.

  • Perform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the Oshkosh Way. Conduct duties consistent with the Company's mission statement, quality objectives, and defined policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or Digital (UI, UX)and / orPhysicalProduct Design.

  • 3+ years of related experience.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Good digital and / or analog hand sketching ability

  • Proficiencywith 2D sketching software (Autodesk Sketchbook Designer or equivalent)

  • Experience with use of 3D printers to prototype design concepts

  • Fluent with design thinking and design processes

  • Knowledge of manufacturing materials & processes to ensure development ofmultiple feasible solutions for each design problem.

  • Proficiencywith Adobe Creative Suite Tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, XD

  • Effective communicator with good organizational skills and the ability to maintain self-discipline to meet deadlines

  • Experience with 3D modeling and rendering (Autodesk 3dsMax, Rhinoceros, Vray, Maxwell Render, Keyshot)

  • Comfortable working individually and as a member of multiple, diverse teams
