The Naval Nuclear Laboratory comprises the U.S. Department of Energy locations and personnel responsible for developing advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology, providing technical support to ensure the safety and reliability of our nation's naval nuclear reactors, and training the Sailors who operate those reactors in the U.S. Navy's submarines and aircraft carrier Fleets. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory includes the Bettis and Knolls Atomic Power Laboratories, the Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and the Naval Reactors Facility which have proudly supported the nation since 1946. Job Description

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated professional to join our Knolls Production team. Apply to this position if you're seeking to work in a mission-driven, technically diverse and dynamic environment with a strong technical team focused on learning and continuous improvement.

The position will encompass the duties of a Class "A" Millwright as well as perform related duties. Duties include (but are not limited to): Install, move, reinstall, align, a variety of types and sizes of machine tools and equipment such as large planners, boring mills, lathes and other associated machinery with or without the assistance of other Millwrights, Helpers.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in the use of lifting and handling equipment such as: chain falls, slings, straps, shackles, table lifts, engine hoists, jib booms, or load test equipment.
  • Experience in the layout/fabrication of complex metal configurations.

Preferred Skills

  • Journeyman Certification or equivalent (Assoc. Degree or Completed Apprenticeship).
  • Qualified rigger and crane operator.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with teams.
  • Currently possess and/or able to obtain the following qualifications at a minimum: Radiation/contamination worker, catch/drape worker, LOTO authorized employee, fall protection authorized user, aerial lift, Class III asbestos worker, 9210.47 category 3 mixed waste generator, tight fitting respirator, etc.
