Overview

This position will focus on assisting with activities related to Internal Controls over Financial Reporting ("ICFR")-based testing and Internal Audit ("IA", "Department") projects. The position will report directly to the Senior Director, Internal Audit, with a Lead or Staff Auditor as a formal mentor. The IA Intern will work approximately 30 hours per week. There is no travel requirement in this role. Summer internship period - July 2023 - August 2023. Participation may be involve working in a hybrid (i.e., part-time onsite and virtual) or completely virtual work environment.



Responsibilities

ICFR

    Assist with activities related to the audit of the Company's financial reporting process including:
    • Testing and evaluating internal controls in accordance with Atlas Air Worldwide's IA methodology
    • Documentation of testing procedures within the IA audit documentation software tool
    • Keep IA management informed of the status of testing and any significant findings as they arise
Other
  • Perform entry level professional duties of low/moderate difficulty providing the opportunity for professional training
  • Perform duties to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures and standards required for successful performance
  • Support Senior Auditors on risk-based internal audit projects
  • Assist the Department's efforts to develop and implement data analytical audit techniques
  • Assignments serve to offer practical experience and broad exposure to the Company's organizational structure
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned; specific activities vary by assignment


Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in college/university required; preferably Junior/Senior majoring in Accounting/Finance/Business
  • Excellent written and communication skills, strong analytical skills and ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Attention to detail
  • Energetic personality
  • Flexibility to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work well alone or with others
  • Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality and discretion
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Hourly Rate: $21/hr

Financial offer within the stated range is contingent on the qualification of selected candidates
