Essential Functions:

  • Efficiently performs manual labor requiring the use of hand-held or automated surface preparation equipment positioned at the proper angle to effectively remove scale, rust, oils/grease or other surface contaminants as preparation for protective coatings application.

  • Assures blasted surfaces are clean and uniform per visual profile/etch standards. Able to use surface profilometer.

  • Mixes and meters blasting media to achieve customer requirements or Company standards. Will apply protective masking as required to protect critical surfaces.

  • Will truck, handle or position materials.

  • Every employee is expected to:

- Complete required paperwork including labor reporting and documentation of quality control and material movement.

- Work safely and maintain the work area with high standards of housekeeping.

- Perform self-inspection and other required quality control functions at the employee's work station.

- Perform required Preventive Maintenance activities on machinery, equipment and respirators operated.

- Train and/or assist in the development of personnel.

- Do the work in lower levels when assigned, and assist in the work in higher levels.

- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and write with average mechanical skills.

  • Respirator training and usage is required.

  • Lifting requirements:

Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Lifting devices are available and recommended.
