Sentara Healthcare is currently hiring for a MRI Tech to work at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center located in Norfolk, VA.

Hours/Shift:

Full-time: Evenings. Monday to Friday 2:30pm to 11pm.

Position Overview:

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is the only Level I Trauma Center in Hampton Roads, VA. We offer high level advanced imaging capabilities including interoperative MRI, MRI focused guided ultrasound, neuro ablations and functional MRI procedures. We are looking for a motivated technologist who is interested in growing your skills with our talented MRI team. We welcome Radiology Techs who are looking to cross train into MRI.

Job Requirements

  • Completion of MRI school/MRI certificate program OR Graduate of 24-month program in radiologic technology in lieu of experience.
  • 1 year experience in a Rad Tech position to include Radiologic Tech, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography or Ultrasound preferred.
  • CNMT or ARDMS or ARRT or ARMRIT is required. Must obtain ARRT MR advanced registry or ARMRIT within two years of hire.
  • BLS

Performs MRI examinations while maintaining safety integrity of MRI operational area for all persons including staff and customers. Maintains adequate supply inventory for performing examinations. Explains examination and procedure to patient and completes departmental documentation.

Job Summary

1 year experience in a Rad Tech position to include Radiologic Tech, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography or Ultrasound preferred. Completion of MRI school/MRI certificate program OR Graduate of 24 month program in radiologic technology required in lieu of experience. Six months MR experience or completion of MR didactic program preferred. Must obtain ARRT MR advanced registry or ARMRIT within 2 years of hire (to include mergers and acquisitions). CNMT or ARDMS or ARRT or ARMRIT is required.
