For this role, you will be working as a leader within the Medicare Optimization & Business Intelligence team. You will be accountable for leading data strategy efforts within the team, managing direct reports and working on key initiatives related to Medicare and Retirement's success in Stars Quality outcomes(HEDIS, Part D, CAHPS/HOS, and Operational Measures).

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Function as a Manager within the Medicare Optimization & Business Intelligence team that consists of overseeing the work of employees executing data analysis related to plan performance, member compliance outcomes, provider data activities(inclusive of claims, supplemental data - Electronic Medical Records)
  • Provide oversight and review of both Prospective and Retrospective HEDIS engine outputs(Member Compliance) and evaluation of Provider Chart Chase Management
  • Solve complex process problems spanning multiple functional areas and business units; managing through direct and indirect reporting relationships
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams that include Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Data Scientist, Product Leads/Owners and Business/Technical Stakeholders
  • Communicate outcomes of Business Intelligence initiatives to Market Owners, Regional Leads and National Leadership teams
  • Be a leader for a data-driven, decision-making culture for Medicare & Retirement's Stars program business.
  • Serve as a technical advisor for various tools utilized by the team which can include but not limited to: SQL Server, Teradata, SAS, Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI, Shared Drive/Cloud Storage
  • Work at highest technical advisory level on the most difficult analysis and design assignments
  • Execute as both an individual contributor within a project team or lead a project team to achieve business-oriented outcome goals
  • Work with direct reports to monitor work output, conduct employee training, assist with career growth/development, and conduct performance evaluation reviews
  • Adapt quickly to fast-paced changing work environment

Required Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of experience working within Stars and/or Clinical Quality domain
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing medical data/records; sound knowledge of HEDIS measures
  • 5+ years of experience leading or coaching a team and prioritizing deliverables
  • 5+ years of experience working in business operational improvement, program management or data quality / operations positions
  • 5+ years of experience leading business data transformation programs / initiatives
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL or SAS coding
  • 5+ years of experience in project management


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in cloud computing(i.e. Snowflake)
  • Experience working within Data Analytics
  • Experience as a System Analyst/Solution Architect
  • Experience managing data infrastructure tools and databases
  • Experience in Data Integration/ETL development within the healthcare domain
  • Experience in a leadership capacity within an Information Technology group
  • Knowledge and use of the ETL tools SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Teradata Utilities
  • Knowledge and use of Teradata and Hadoop/Hive

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington Residents Only Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington residents is $101,200 to $184,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
