Description

GAI Consultants, Inc. is looking for Survey Crew Chief to support survey work in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, Trenton, NJ, or Richmond, VA. The successful candidate is responsible for collecting accurate and precise survey data that is reliable for design and construction activities.

Job Duties:



  • Strong technical skills and supervisory skills are required. This individual must take on office responsibilities such as calculations, crew scheduling, overseeing other crews, overall QMS responsibilities, estimating and understanding project budgets, leading effective safety talks,
  • Plan the field activity to meet the needs of the client
  • Coordinate with office personnel on group assignments
  • Conduct QMS on survey activity for the group including horizontal and vertical measurement accuracy
  • Advanced understanding of coordinate geometry
  • Must understand survey nomenclature
  • Thorough understanding of how to download or transfer files from the data collector
  • Operate total stations and data collector; including calibration, and care of delicate and expensive equipment
  • Intermediate GPS/ survey skills are preferred.

Education
Technical/other training of Other (required)
Experience
3 - 5 years: Surveying experience. (required)
QA/QC data experience. (required)
Leadership skills and experience with leading crews. (required)
Advanced communication skills. (required)
Knowledge of survey equipment. (required)
Licenses & Certifications
Driver's License (required)
Prof Land Surveyor (PLS) (preferred)
