Description

GAI Consultants is seeking a Substation/Protection & Controls Drafter. This position will be involved all aspects of CAD for support of Substation projects.

The Senior CAD Operator will be involved with all aspects of CAD for support of Substation projects. This position requires working with engineering and other technical subject matter experts in all aspects of electrical substation and protection & control design services. The successful candidate will perform CAD work of red-lined engineering markups for various substations and/or protection and control engineering projects working under engineering supervision.

Job Duties:



  • Opening, revising, plotting, and saving drawing CAD files.
  • Create new drawings from templates or from scratch with title blocks and border drawing blocks.
  • Create and modify drawing blocks, borders, and title blocks
  • Provide direction for compiling, collating, assembling, and verifying completeness of drawing and project document packages.
  • Advanced use of scaling with model and paper space.
  • Ability to use style and formatting in CAD software.
  • Advanced knowledge of plot profiles and user profiles in CAD package.
  • Advanced ISO view and 3-D view drawing depictions.
  • Assist CAD technicians and CAD operators in the development of their skills.
  • BIM experience preferred.

Education
Associates (preferred)
Technical/other training of Drafting (required)
Experience
2 - 5 years: AutoCAD and/or Microstation (required)
