Project Planner (Parks System Master Planning)

Description

GAI Consultants, Inc. seeks a Project Planner with specific experience in Parks and Recreation Systems Master Plans. This position is within our Community Solutions Group which includes integrated Planning, Landscape Architecture, and Urban Analytics. Experience level is anticipated to be 3-5 years or more.

Job Duties: (i) Providing professional and technical assistance in the planning and design of local government Parks and Recreation System Master Plans, as well as site-specific master plans for parks, recreation, open space, and trails; (ii), Must possess strong technical writing skills; (iii) Experience with comprehensive planning, GIS, development review and budgeting; (iv) public engagement, direct client interaction and public presentations; and (v) collaboration with project teams and CSG staff to prepare reports and presentations that convey key findings.

Qualifications: (i) undergraduate degree with a mix of quantitative and qualitative coursework in disciplines such as urban and regional planning, landscape architecture, geography, environmental sustainability, ecology, real estate, public policy, or political science; (ii) strong skills with Excel and Microsoft Office, functional understanding of ArcGIS and interest in learning other analytical methods; (iii) strong written and communication skills. The successful candidate will have a passion for research, analysis, and problem-solving with strong attention to detail and accuracy. AICP, PLA, or CPRP/CPRE credentials are desired but not required.
