Description

GAI Consultants is seeking a Part-Time CAD Operator. This position will be involved with all aspects of CAD for support of Substation projects and work out of our Homestead, PA office.

This position requires working with engineering and other technical subject matter experts in all aspects of electrical substation and protections & controls design services. The successful candidate will perform CAD work of red-lined engineering markups for various substations and/or protection and control engineering projects as well as project support working under engineering supervision.

Job Duties:



  • Opening, revising, plotting, and saving of drawing CAD files.
  • Create new drawings from templates from scratch with title blocks and border drawing blocks.
  • Create and modify drawing blocks, borders, and title blocks
  • Provide direction for compiling, collating, assembling, and verifying completeness of drawing and project document packages.
  • Advanced use of scaling with model and paper space.
  • Ability to use style and formatting in CAD software.
  • Advanced knowledge of plot profiles and user profiles in CAD package.
  • Advanced ISO view and 3-D view drawing depictions.
  • Assist CAD technicians and CAD operators in the development of their skills.
  • BIM experience preferred.
  • Support project tasks as needed

Technical/other training of Drafting (required)
Experience
0 - 2 years: AutoCAD and/or Microstation (required)
Licenses & Certifications
Driver's License (required)
Skills
