Description

GAI Consultants, Inc. is looking for a transportation Senior Lead Construction Technician with a WV Transportation Engineering Technician (TRET) level 3 or 4 to serve as inspectors to support highway/bridge projects throughout West Virginia. This position will primarily support WVDOH District 4 in Harrison County. The successful candidate will be eligible for a sign-on bonus.

Job Duties:



  • Verification that contractor's work being performed is in accordance with plans and contractual specifications.
  • Perform calculations for contractor payment.
  • Ability to read construction plans and documents.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Write daily technical reports

  • Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects such as testing equipment and materials samples.
  • Ability to walk on uneven terrain and navigate steps, stairs, and ladders.
  • Ability to work in hazardous environments and use required Personal Protective Equipment. The environment will include dust, noise, tripping, and overhead hazards.


Travel Requirements:

Travel to project sites as necessary with the potential for overnight stays (25%).

Education
Bachelors of Civil Engineering (preferred)
High School of Diploma (required)
Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or related) or 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree. (required)
