This is a position with Marley Engineered Products LLC.

This position will be responsible for efficiently coordinating the inbound and outbound movement of materials, goods and supplies based on customer needs, inventory targets and production schedules. They will collaborate with functional area leaders to achieve key plant goals and objectives including, but not limited to: effective and efficient production schedules, customer fill-rates and on-time shipments, inventory levels and turn over targets, sourcing and PPV objectives and of inventory accuracy goals.




PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES




  1. Bring an enhanced focus on production planning and scheduling to achieve a robust and predictable process with an outcome that establishes a fixed / level schedule which stabilizes production, supply chain and overall planning.
  2. Develop and execute the purchasing strategy to meet the company's business growth and materials requirements including monitoring supplier scorecard performance.
  3. Work with strategic supply commodity managers to improve supplier quality and delivery. Partner to optimize supply chain.
  4. Partner with Engineering, IT, and operations functions to optimize MRP and ERP system to improve work flow, cost, schedule, and inventory performance.
  5. Lead and develop a team of direct and indirect reports and act as a change agent, role model, and coach.
  6. Enhance material-delivery routings using standard work and pull signals to tightly link areas of continuous flow to the supply of materials. Develop, analyze and communicate materials metrics, and standards of performance.
  7. Effectively create and sustain material and system cost reduction programs.
  8. Implement processes and controls to achieve accuracy of inventory counts, capable of identifying discrepancies in inventory counts and completing root cause corrective actions to guard against inconsistencies in the future.
  9. Resolve labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.
  10. Refine procedures and supervise the annual physical inventory.
  11. Prepare and manage department budget within established guidelines.
  12. Participate as a member of the operations staff team in making cross-functional operational decisions effecting P/L, Cost, Operations, Safety, Quality, Delivery, S&OP and Cash objectives.
  13. Adhere to established company policies, procedures, terms and conditions and legal matters that affect purchasing policies.
  14. Coordinate and work with quality, engineering, planning and operations to ensure 100% on-time delivery.
  15. May be required to perform additional duties as assigned.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


  • Bachelor's Degree in Material Science, Logistics, Supply Chain or Business
  • Minimum of 5 year's experience at the Manager level within the Materials Management profession.
  • 10+ year's experience in the Materials Management function.
  • APICS Certification preferred
  • Experience in forecasting, planning and production scheduling in a complex manufacturing environment with complex products and large number of SKU's MTO vs. Stock




KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES




  • Understanding and knowledge of MRP Business System, manufacturing, basic accounting, costing functions, purchasing, logistics, shipping and warehousing is required.
  • Strong understanding of MRP systems, both planning and purchasing aspects within a JIT environment.
  • MAPICS ERP experience a plus.
  • Lean training and demonstrated use of the tools.
  • Must have very strong PC skills with Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required. SQL and data-warehouses experience preferred. MAPICS experience a plus.
  • JD Edwards ERP - MRP package; implementations experience a plus. SAP ERP - MRP experience; implementation experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of MRP Business System, manufacturing, basic costing functions, purchasing, logistics, shipping and warehousing preferred
  • Strong bias for action and attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Analytical thinking with problem solving aptitude
  • Effective communicator both verbal and written skills
  • Effective leader with proven ability to: develop, coach and mentor leaders.
  • Ability to evaluate the organization's strengths and weaknesses and develop a strategy to improve in those areas of vulnerability
  • Strong Knowledge Manufacturing Functions is preferred. Experience with Fabrication operations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Problems solving and data analysis skills (8D, 5Y, statistics, etc.). Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs and develop solutions.
