Welding Engineering Technician

To provide technical support and guidance throughout the welding production process to ensure the company meets or exceeds customer product and service requirements. To maintain and improve welding machinery, practices, and materials as needed to support business growth and operational excellence. This position reports to the Quality & Production Engineering Manager.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Assist manufacturing with all welding (manual and robotic) operations at AERCO (arc welding processes)
  • Develop, maintain, and improve welding procedures
  • Design and develop welding fixtures
  • Specify and oversee welding equipment and consumables
  • Create job books and weld maps
  • Coordinate the build of new welded products
  • Create data reports as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Associate Degree in Welding Technology
  • 3 years experience in welding in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Possess written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Project management skills

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

*WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work in shop floor environment

May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.

Some travel may be involved, either to customers, suppliers, or Watts companies

Candidate must be flexible to work hours required to meet customer demands (daily overtime or weekends)
