Parker is seeking a skilled Operations Leader in our Manitowoc, WI facility. This person will lead operations initiatives for a high impact site supporting Parker Hose Products Division. In this high visibility role, you will:

Lead operation of one or more plant value streams supporting the 2nd or 3rd shift operation in Manitowoc, WI. Partners with the Value Stream Manager to implement the Parker Lean system and Win Strategy to ensure a safe work environment, drive quality improvements, provide premier customer service, develop a qualified workforce, reduce operating costs, inventories and lead times through continuous improvements. Oversee day-to-day activities to meet daily, monthly, quarterly and annual expectations.

Responsible for developing and leading associates, employment decisions and performance assessments of an assigned plant value stream(s). Responsible for leading all aspects of the plant value stream(s) under the direction of the Value Stream Manager to include: associate development, utilization of team consensus to evaluate decisions, ensure rapid implementation of decisions, budget development and adherence, employment decisions related to associates and performance assessment of Group Leaders and associates.

  • Monitor and follow all safety preventative measures and practices, including 5S+ safety guidelines, while following and meeting standard work requirements
  • Lead the plant value stream(s) in daily operation and continuous improvements, which include Supply chain; Production control; Manufacturing priorities; coordination between all shifts in the value stream
  • Assist the Value Stream Manager in creating continuous product flow, utilizing pull systems, and leveling the workload
  • Instill and maintain employee empowerment and a positive team atmosphere in the Value Stream(s)
  • Provide effective cross training for Value Stream associates and backups from other value streams to assure continuous smooth running of the value stream
  • Must be able to lead Kaizens
  • Encourage and work with your team to stop and fix problems to get quality right the first time
  • Work the Value Stream Manager to develop the future value stream map and manage the plans to achieve it as documented in the Value Stream Tracking Center
  • Able to foster professionalism with all associates, along with internal and external customers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated successful leadership required
  • Working with Lean & Leading Kaizens
  • Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated teambuilding skills
  • Sound decision making skills
  • Good math, reading and writing skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Sufficient knowledge in accounting, manufacturing, human resources, and inventory control
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
