Job Purpose

Dana is searching for a skilled and motivated candidate in the area of Electrified Powertrain Control Systems to support the development of electrified powertrain software. This work involves developing controls for vehicle systems and components, to expand Dana's commitment to products that improve vehicle safety, performance and fuel economy. Job Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Develop and deploy inverter functions for production using the Mathworks model-based software toolchain.
  • Create plant models for the development and optimization of control algorithms and function validation.
  • Meet targets for deliverables including timing of virtual, laboratory, and vehicle demonstrations of system performance.
  • Collaborate and negotiate with customer regarding control system requirements, interfaces, and product development progress.
  • Follow Program Management and Stage Gate development processes to meet project goals.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Science, Physics, Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering required. Master's degree in Engineering Science, Physics, Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in the development of controls for electrified propulsion products required.
  • 3+years of experience using Simulink model-based software required.
  • Working experience with SW development tools such as Polarion, Git, Jira, Confluence..etc.
  • Working experience with A-SPICE processes, and Agile methods.
  • Experience with Battery Electric or Hybrid Vehicle systems.
  • Ability to successfully function in a team with cross-functional team members.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills; problem solving, planning and decision making.
  • Must be a self-directed and motivated individual who is organized and able to accept multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside Dana in a professional manner.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally.


Preferred:



  • Architecture knowledge of vehicle powertrain control systems.
  • Previous experience releasing production model-based software in projects certified to A-SPICE L2.
  • Azure repos and artifactory usage experience.
  • Previous experience optimizing controls parameters during vehicle testing.
  • Understanding of the ISO26262 functional safety standard and practices.
  • Understanding of product development standards including APQP, DVP&R, DFM and DFMEA.
