We have an opportunity for a self-driven, high energy Assistant - Payroll Support in San Antonio, TX (Hybrid with in-office training) that possesses a can-do attitude.

Essential Job Responsibilities



  • Collect, analyze, prepare, and input payroll data.
  • Maintain payroll information by collating, calculating, and entering data.
  • Update payroll records by entering any changes to employee information or benefits such tax election changes, exemptions and saving deductions.
  • Prepare on-demand and off-cycle payment processing.
  • Prepare reports that include summaries of earnings, tax deductions, leaves of absence, compassionate leave, and non- taxable wages.
  • Calculate payroll liabilities by determining employee taxes, including federal and state income, and social security tax, and calculating employer's payments for social security, unemployment, and worker's compensation.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and answers any employee or client payroll queries.
  • Maintain all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare payroll reconciliations for each pay cycle.
  • Liaise with payroll service provider.
  • Keep current on payroll legislation and any changes to facilitate improved performance within the entire payroll workflow (Workday).
  • Respond to federal and state agencies regarding wage garnishments.
  • Assist in processing and issuing W-2 forms to employees.
  • Other duties as requested by supervisor.

Work Experience

Minimum of one (1) year of experience supporting payroll activities.

  • Strong computer skills and software knowledge. Workday experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of wage withholding orders.
  • Accurate data entry skills with great attention to detail.
  • Good client service skills.
  • Being an effective team player.

  • Ability to multitask in a stressful environment with specific deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently in a time-sensitive environment.

  • Confidentiality and respect for the privacy of sensitive information, including employee records.
  • Ability to follow instructions well on any new projects and implementations surrounding payroll.
