Job Summary

The University of Kentucky is currently seeking a clinical faculty member for Internal Medicine. This position will primarily provide hospital-based clinical services for patients cared for at Chandler and Good Samaritan Hospitals and the Hospital Medicine division's clinical practice at the University of Kentucky Health Enterprise.

The faculty member may also provide clinical teaching and advising to medical students and trainees in other departments throughout the College of Medicine. The individual will be expected to be an active participant and leader of division and department clinical activities such as grand rounds, morning report, and noon conference, as well as to serve on clinical committees that enhance the care of patients and operation of the clinical practice.

This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ( CMS ). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022. This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID -19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID -19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted.
