Terminal degree required. Additional professional licensure and/or certification in the field may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
Recent law school graduate in good standing from an accredited law school for a one-year fellowship. Term dates of fellowship are July 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024. Flexibility to begin after July 1, 2023, will be considered, but the end term date will remain June 30, 2024. The hiring for the fellowship position will not lead to full-time employment after June 30, 2024, as new recent graduates are hired for the one-year fellowship each year. Position Summary
The University of Georgia Equal Opportunity Office has a one-year fellowship for a law school graduate from an accredited law school. A letter of recommendation from a law professor is needed. This position is intended to help the new attorney develop professionally and gain experience in an in-house counsel position. The Fellow will work with attorneys in the Equal Opportunity Office to assist in dealings with Faculty, Staff, and Administration to, among other things:
-Provide advice and counseling to units and colleges on legal and policy issues;
-Research and draft memoranda and correspondence; and
-Participate in policy review and assessment.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position.

Seeking a law graduate, prepared to apply for admission to the Georgia Bar.

Strong academic credentials. Excellent research, analytical, writing, and communication skills. Strong work ethic, sense of initiative, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well independently.
