Job Title: Baxter Graduate Fellow

Department: School of Law

Reports to: Visiting Professor, School of Law & Director of Litigation

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary: $64,480 to $65,520

Summary: Perform highly responsible and complex administrative duties in support of the Law School's Litigation Program.

This is a 12-month term position. This position may be extended at the recommendation of the program director and upon mutual agreement. If this position is extended beyond the initial 12 months, a new term employment offer may be issued.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.




  • Provide high level administrative support to the Law Student Litigation Program.
  • Coordinate a variety of litigation programs and events through the academic year.
  • Support Litigation Program professors including Trial Advocacy, Advanced Trial Advocacy, and Civil Depositions.
  • Support and assist with registrations for mock trial competitions during the fall (4-6) and spring (4-5) term.
  • Facilitate Mock Trial Tryouts, including creating a tryout problem, evaluate tryouts, synchronize competitors' schedules, selecting teams with program director.
  • Create and organize the In Vino case files, facilitate the various aspects of the In Vino Competition.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.



Qualifications

Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:




  • Knowledge of: Proficiency using MS suite, data processing and record keeping.
  • Ability to: Work independently, organize simultaneous projects, demonstrate initiative, and exercise professional judgment under minimal supervision. Maintain school's strict confidentiality policies. Cordially handle a variety of different student questions and concerns. Think analytically, attend to details, edit written materials, and solve complex problems. Maintain effective interpersonal relationships emphasizing efficiency and customer service. Must be punctual.
  • Experience and Education: Candidate must be a recent graduate that earned a JD from Golden Gate University. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
