The Phlebotomist functions as an integral member of the team and is responsible for performing phlebotomy and other lab tests in a manner that maintains high quality patient care.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Obtain blood specimens by skin puncture, venipuncture
  • Follow all laboratory procedures and protocols
  • Perform point of care testing
  • Accurately enter patient information and tests into the computer and accurately label specimens after the patient is drawn but before patient leaves
  • Deliver specimens to analytical area
  • Work as a team member within the laboratory department, and with all other Polyclinic departments
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:



  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Graduation from a phlebotomy training program, post secondary school, college accredited by a regional or national accrediting organization, or Military training or experience satisfies the training or experience requirements set by State of Washington
  • Active Interim or Medical Assistant - Phlebotomy Certification (MA-P) through the Washington State Department of Health
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA) or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross)



Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1+ years of experience working as an Phlebotomist or Medical Assistant
