Job Description


Operates white lead extruder

Organizational Scope

Reports to:

Shift Manager

Essential Functions

  1. Proper identification of all raw materials and supply materials
  2. Knowledge of correct pin and die set up
  3. Set up and operate transfer tape system
  4. Operate vulcanizer and train system
  5. Use and understand calipers
  6. Operate laser mike in area
  7. Understand requirements of a process specification sheet
  8. Understand layline specification sheet
  9. Identify and eliminate known defects
  10. Document good and non-conforming product
  11. Correctly fill out required paperwork daily
  12. Train new employees as needed
  13. Detect and report problem areas or unusual conditions to supervisor
  14. Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition at all times
  15. Use personal safeguards for hands, feet and eyes as prescribed
  16. Perform related and other duties assigned by supervisor

Working Conditions

  1. High noise levels from operating machines and equipment
  2. Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels
  3. Breathing fumes, dust and mist

The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.

Minimum Requirements

Preferred high school diploma or GED

Experience:

On the job training from one to eight weeks or extend to ten weeks if needed

Visual acuity - near acuity and accommodation for reading information to perform job tasks

Hearing acuity - Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action
