ELS is hiring for the position of Graphic Design and Video Editor in Chicago, Illinois.

What You'll Do

The Graphic and Multimedia Designer is responsible for contributing to concept development and to the translation and extension of brand concepts into effective visual communication designs for digital and print campaigns. Under the direction of the Graphic Design Manager and Creative Director, you will work hands-on with several projects at a time and will be involved in all phases of creative development. You will be responsible for executing projects with guidance of the senior creative staff.

The Graphic and Multimedia Designer should have attention to detail, be pro-active, have a strong work ethic, good customer experience / people skills in line with our company's core values, the ability to multi-task under ever changing deadlines; have a creative eye for design, composition, typography, and image selection, with the ability to create motion graphics, edit audio and video, edit and touch up images, as well as traditional layout and print design.

Your Job Will Include

  • Production of a variety of video assets for online distribution, social media, and digital advertising.
  • Responsible for post-production: editing and reviewing projects in process, offloading media, logging and reviewing footage and B-roll, and ensuring product quality on a per project basis.
  • Conceptualizing, designing, developing, and implementing email marketing promotions, digital newsletters and blogs, social and digital display ads, remarketing / retargeting display ads, designing logos and other branded campaigns, along with other various informational and promotional collateral (both print and digital) with quality assurance of outbound campaigns and assets.
  • Producing attractive and effective designs for all media platforms
  • Supporting the team throughout the execution of campaigns and projects
  • Liaising effectively with internal and external clients and other team members
  • Offering input to creative meetings and sharing ideas
  • Communicating with senior team members to receive feedback

You are expected to work and manage priorities independently, with oversight from your creative team leads. You aim to produce work to the highest standards offering variations and creative options, and are passionate about video and design, trends in mobile responsiveness, social media, advertising and print design, and evolving technology. Communication is a big part of the job, so the Graphic and Multimedia Designer must feel confident enough to contribute to the entire creative process. Keeping a finger on the pulse of current and competitive trends is also a key factor when moving towards promotion and recognition.

A good knowledge of the following tools is required:

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite - Mac (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Ability to shoot video with camera, audio and lighting skills.
  • Knowledge or skills in HTML and/or in any email service provider (ESP) or email content builder such as: Salesforce, Acoustic, or Message Composer is a plus.

Experience & Skills You Need

  • Bachelor's Degree with a major / concentration in: Graphic Design / Multimedia Design / Visual Communication Design / Communication Design / Digital Communication / Advertising Design / or other related degree from an accredited university or college or demonstrates technical knowledge and equivalent work experience.
  • 1+ years (preferred) video production, marketing-related design, and general graphic design knowledge
  • The ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure, results driven environment
  • The ability to see projects through from inception to production
  • Strong verbal, written, proofreading and communication skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills that support the rest of the team
  • The motivation to maintain and improve design standards while having an inquisitive and investigative mind
