General Summary Perform routine and repetitive work in non-technical Parks maintenance. Seasonal employees receive a free pass to the Bob L. Burger Recreation Center. This pass is valid through the end of the calendar year as long as you stay employed with the City for the agreed upon amount of time. Essential Functions The following duties are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive: Picks up litter in park areas. Cleans public facilities, shelters, BBQ's and restrooms. Pulls weeds. Empties trash cans. Performs related duties as required. Typical Qualifications KNOWLEDGE: Basic knowledge of safety practices and procedures. SKILL: Ability to get along with co-workers and follow verbal directions. ABILITY: Ability to perform light manual labor, including lifting and stooping, for extended periods of time under all weather conditions; follow written and oral instructions; work well with people from culturally diverse backgrounds, establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public; employ safety practices and procedures; and communicate clearly and concisely in English, verbally and in writing. Special Requirements Must be 14 - 17 years of age on the date of hire.
