Parker Hannifin, the world's leading manufacturer of industrial refrigeration valves, is seeking Machine Operators for 3 rd shift (11pm - 7am) at our Mauston, WI location. Position will be responsible to set up and operate a variety of production machinery in a cell to produce parts and products within specifications and quality standards. Parker offers competitive wages with annual increases, starting at $18.94/hr - $21.28, $1.00 shift differntial based on experience, profit sharing, tuition reimbursement, excellent benefits available on date of hire, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, pension plan, 401k benefits with a great employer match, paid time off and 13 paid holidays, a clean and climate-controlled work environment, and a $1,500 sign-on bonus .

  • Obtain tools, gauges, and fixtures, set up and make adjustments to perform a normal range of operations on standard, automatic, tape, or computer numerically controlled production machines.
  • Adjust and align holding fixtures, block and secure unusual shaped parts into holding device, and select speeds and feeds according to material characteristics and finish requirements.
  • Perform first piece inspection.
  • Load parts into jigs, fixtures, or between centers, load raw material into machine feed system or holding devices.
  • Drill, tap, bore, counterbore, turn, face, thread, chamfer, mill, ream, slot, and similar operations to close tolerances.
  • Check tools for damage, evaluate and report needed repairs, replace broken and dull tools, and make required adjustments.
  • Periodically inspect parts to maintain specifications and quality standards.
  • Operate several machines simultaneously as directed. 9. Monitor and maintain all mini and kitted tool cribs.
  • Notify supervisor of unusual equipment or operating problems.
  • Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Work in other cells or departments as required.
  • Complete Setter Operator training.

Qualifications



  • Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or GED and 1+ years of experience in machine operation.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions, work orders, and short correspondence. Ability to communicate with other associates to share information, solve problems, and train.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to use advanced trade math together with visualizing and the use of complicated specifications, sketches, drawings, charts, tables, and handbook formulas, and use all varieties of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier scales, and height gauges.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : N/A Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Requires the ability to operate various machines and equipment to include lathe, mill, saw, grinders, index head, drill press, arbor press, radial drill, drill sharpener, hoist and pallet jack and hand, and hand powered tools. Requires knowledge of machine tool operations and characteristics of material equivalent to a complete accredited apprenticeship of a recognized trade. Requires basic computer skills.
  • Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger or touch objects, tools, or controls, to push and pull objects, and lift and/or move 10 to 30 lbs. The associate is occasionally required to reach above the shoulders, and lift and/or move 35 to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity and depth perception.
