Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages the AXIS E&S Property Underwriting Operations support team in Alpharetta overseeing the underwriting assistants supporting the Property underwriters in achieving growth goals. Responsibilities include hiring, training, achieving team and individual service level agreements and administering performance reviews. Key accountabilities to include:
* Directs the workflow processes and procedures to ensure adherence to company standards
* Oversees quality control as it relates to adherence to timelines and quality standards
* Coaches, mentors, directs, trains, and develops assigned staff
* Ensures operational excellence including compliance with segment and company policies, standards, and regulatory requirements
* Ensures completion and follow up of operations quality review process
* Develops and maintains a high performing culture that inspires employee commitment
* Oversees and manages annual budget for area of responsibility
* Responsible for the execution of corporate Human Resource policies and procedures, including staffing, salary administration, and performance evaluations
* Develops collaborative efforts with Underwriting and other offices for effective implementation and adherence of regional and/or countrywide best practices
* Leading efforts to implement new systems and processes with staff which may include system testing, training of staff, and change management responsibilities.
Required Education/Training & Experience:
* Minimum 5 years related work experience in Operations Management or Underwriting required. Experience should include: workflow analysis; familiarity with business process outsourcing; developing and executing business plans and operations strategies
* Bachelor's degree preferred; extensive comparable work experience will be considered
* Proven experience in managing and supervising an operations team, where the client is heavily engaged. Experience should include: skills in successfully managing a team that process and service accounts; and, skills to hire, lead, counsel, and develop staff to include offshore activities and relationships
* Knowledge and hands-on experience working in underwriting systems to include operation workflows of all underwriting support functions required. For internal candidates, expert knowledge in Duck Creek and UWS highly preferred.
* Demonstration of continuous Commercial Insurance industry coursework and training
* Intermediate proficiencies in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Other desired skills and characteristics:
* Comprehensive knowledge of Commercial Lines Insurance to include E&S Property Lines of business
* Solid planning and organizational skills including time management, prioritization and attention to detail
* Ability to partner with all operating units to identify and address operations service issues
* Drive to accomplish goals through influence management
* Ability to analyze and respond to legal and regulatory requirements
* Ability to problem solve and resolve conflict

For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $75k to $100k (GA). The specific salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including the experience of the successful candidate and their work location. In addition, all employees are eligible for competitive incentive targets, with awards based on overall corporate and individual performance.
