IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We have an immediate need for a Landscape Designer / Landscape Architect to work out of one of our . As a Landscape Designer / Landscape Architect you will assist in the development of design, planning, and specifications as well as preparing and administering construction documents.

Some key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Prepare site and landscape plans, specifications, and cost estimates

  • Compile and analyze data on conditions such as location, drainage, and location of structures for environmental reports and landscaping plans

  • Commit to sustainable design and performance-based landscapes

  • Demonstrate design competency and creativity to produce hand and computer-generated presentation graphics, plans, perspective, and selection illustrations

  • Interpret technical documents and map specifications

  • Build and maintain external client and service relationships

Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:

  • Tree and plant knowledge and techniques in northern Virginia

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate design ideas verbally/orally/graphically

  • Ability to work both collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and independently

  • Manage and prioritize multiple tasks with multiple due dates

  • Strong documentation skills

  • Reading, interpreting, understanding, and applying planning standards and procedures, applicable state rules and regulations, city/county policies and procedures

Education and experience requirements are:

  • Bachelors or master's degree in landscape architecture or similar education

  • 2+ years relevant experience

  • Professional registration (PLA) preferred but not required

  • Pursues training to attain further professional development

  • Competency with relevant software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Sketch-Up

  • Experience with Lumion is a plus
