Our mission is to support and strengthen technology development by ensuring and improving Quality Control, reducing risks, driving Improvement and Quality Assurance providing insight on D&E processes and deliverables with a predictable outcome. With a continuous growing demand for faster delivery of latest technology, good Quality and reliability becomes more and more challenging. This means that the quality of our products must increase. We do this by monitoring and driving product Quality through the complete process from idea to customer acceptance (Quality control), securing process adherence and implement lessons learned (Quality assurance) and continuously improve our WoW (Quality improvement).

The position is part of Business Line Applications, Business Unit Brion. The Quality Engineer will be a member of Quality & Continuous Improvement department to align the quality improvement projects and facilitate leverage with Quality activities in the rest of ASML

Role and responsibilities

* Supports the (Cluster) Quality Manager in preparing the operational Quality plan.

* Implements the operational plan and contributes to solving quality issues together with line management.

* Contributes to development, improvement and harmonization of data analysis methods, reporting and tools, and drives data quality for the own Cluster / Department.

* Monitor and drive the Department Quality metrics to initiate actions to increase the efficiency for the engineers. Provides analysis and solutions for deviations in departmental Quality targets.

* Advises and exercises judgment on Quality content subjects (providing direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance, translating given policies to business situations). Is involved in all relevant design stages to provide coaching and training to professional individual contributors.

* Identifies quality risks in execution, drives mitigation and closure, by asking the right questions, analyzing data and providing insights to line management.

* Supports the customer feedback loops to drive continuous improvements for products, systems, tools and culture. Is involved in and supports customer audits, escalations and challenges issues and provides analysis of the situation and data.

* Acts as change agent in the Quality transformation, promotes Quality culture & behavior, drives process adherence from the start.

Education and experience

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in applied physics, Software / Electrical / Mathematics or (technical) Quality management.
  • More than 3 years of work experience in technically driven organization(s), preferably within a development environment.
  • Skilled
    with software development in C++ and python; Data analysis, machine learning,
    Java and React are a bonus.
  • Knowledgeable with software development tooling such as bitbucket, JIRA and SonarQube.

  • Experienced in quality methods and tools like e.g., 6 Sigma, value stream analysis, 5 Why's analysis, Kaizen, brainstorming sessions, problem solving techniques, FMEA, 8D, Ishikawa diagrams.
    if possible: Knowledgeable in international quality standards (ISO9001), process assessments and audits.
  • Skilled with software development in C++ and python; Data analysis, machine learning, Java and React are a bonus.

  • Knowledgeable with software development tooling such as bitbucket, JIRA and SonarQube.

  • Ability to manage complex relationships between various professional disciplines and organizational levels from engineer to VP.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and team leader skills, able to collaborate across all levels of the organization with an open attitude.

  • Excellent ability to manage change with the ability to overcome resistance and persist in achieving mission.

The California base annual salary for this role is currently $90,525 - $122,475. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
