Job Description

Primarily responsible for maintaining the supermarket pull systems. Provides the various value streams with assistance in establishing effective material flow and replenishment in order to achieve premier customer service and lower inventory. Must effectively interface with Cell Technicians/Operators, Cell Technical Leads, Buyers, Value Stream Leaders and others. Works with minimal daily supervision, but keeps Value Stream Leaders, Continuous Improvement Projects Leader and Buyers informed of relevant material/information flow activities

  • Stocks and allocates assembly and kanban jobs.
  • Properly documents all material transactions and moves finished goods to Shipping Department.
  • Strictly manages the kanban cards and ensures the accuracy of the replenishment system.
  • Stocks supermarkets as material is received and updates bin locations when necessary.
  • Assists in setting up supermarkets.
  • Replenishes empty line stock signals and kits low volume components as required.
  • Assists with troubleshooting material flow and information flow problems.
  • Performs the tugger route efficiently, accurately and reliably.
  • Reconciles records or notifies others when material quantity, description or quality does not match recorded or intended levels.
  • Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by wearing the proper safety equipment and following procedures.
  • Proactively identifies and takes corrective action or eliminates unsafe behaviors and conditions.
  • Keeps work areas clean and organized for self and others daily.
  • Assists in Assembly and Test areas as needed and may perform other related responsibilities.
  • Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
    • 1-3 years direct industry related experience in a high technology manufacturing environment. Able to work independently with limited supervisory guidance. Knowledge of Parker Aerospace products desired.
    • Prior knowledge of components and flow of material.
    • As required, must be able to set up test fixtures independently. Able to adapt to procedures, techniques, and/or processes to meet special needs on varied assignments.
      * Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints, route sheets, and test specifications. Perform semi-complex mathematical calculations, as well as demonstrate effective verbal, written, and basic computer skills.
    • Able to implement and effectively apply lean initiatives.
    • Possess effective interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a high performing team environment.
      * Able to interpret reports and use standard business software applications. Able to use employee self-service system to access on-line information and use specialized automated systems (i.e. TORS, e-mail).
    • Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
