Overview:

ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. The Laser Scanning Coordinator & Modeler perform diverse tasks and leadership assignments primarily engaged in field laser scanning and generating virtual models to be converted into AutoCAD drawings. This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.

Pay range: $39.58 - $69.90

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare laser scanning, target locations, and file structures for generating a virtual model of a nuclear power plant.
  • Ensures conformance with engineering direction, specifications, design criteria, and design standards in all work performed.
  • Organize and conduct project in-field walk-downs, design verification, and assign schedule and corrective actions.
  • Maintains constant review of job status, initiates appropriate measures to overcome delays that might affect established work schedules, and brings unusual problems or delays to the attention of superiors.
  • Participates in technical, scoping, and schedule planning meetings with other project participants.
  • Advises management in budget preparation to ensure resources are available to accomplish assigned workload.
  • Establishes and maintains working interfaces with design and engineering (AE) teams in other disciplines and with other organizations to foster cooperation and team building, and to ensure that customer/supplier alignments are established and maintained.
  • Prepares technical reports describing contributing factors to early or late performance on scheduled deliverables.
  • Expands knowledge of computer applications and computerized databases for more efficient application to design tasks thru training and development.
  • Observing and providing feedback to in-field project workers.
  • Must support the biennial refueling outage as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university and 8 years of highly technical design experience sufficient to provide a working knowledge of nuclear plant system, structure, and component documentation, design, and control standards and regulations.
  • OR a high school diploma or GED and 10 years of highly technical design experience sufficient to provide a working knowledge of nuclear plant systems, structure, and component documentation, design, and control standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency in FARO Laser Scanning equipment and expert knowledge in SCENE software generating virtual models.
  • Converting scans into AutoCAD drawings for design use.
  • Familiarity or direct experience with generating large facility virtual models and creating comprehensive file structures is highly desirable.
  • Advanced knowledge of the basis of design in a chosen design discipline.
  • Working knowledge of interfacing disciplines including nuclear plant maintenance and operations, regulations and standards controlling nuclear plant design and documentation, task estimating, and scheduling techniques.
  • Highly developed design ability to provide the foundation from which to direct and control the solution of the most complex design problems.
  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with personnel communications of both technical and administrative natures.
  • Leadership ability to deal effectively with personnel development, disciplinary, and work control matters.
  • Interface with all levels of management and external contractors.
  • Ability to understand and apply and model the company's Core Values (Teamwork, Excellence, Accountability, Mutual Respect, and Trust through open and honest communication).
  • Proficiency in various software systems: including Scene, Revit, AutoCAD, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
