Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Job Summary The Clarity report writer analyzes, provide specifications for, and writes individual reports for their assigned applications. Clarity report writers are responsible for validating Epic Foundation System reports and identifying advanced reporting needs with report consumers. They must meet with the Epic Analyst and report consumers to understand their reporting needs. The Clarity Report Writer will create design specifications for new reports and identify and validate the appropriate technological solutions for various reporting needs. The Report Writer may create new reports, using third party report writing tools to display Clarity data. The Report Writer will have an ongoing responsibility of modifying existing reports, as necessary. Accountabilities * Demonstrates advanced knowledge and ability to develop and troubleshoot SQL scripts, Crystal reporting and other reporting technologies from database resources to deliver custom reporting that meets the needs of the business unit. 30% * Follows functional specification documents to create reports within the Epic application. Completes thorough unit testing of all reports prior to handoff for functional and/or integrated testing. Documents and reports system issues through internal chain of command; communications with vendor where appropriate. 10% * Collects information regarding potential report enhancements and functionality needs. Prepares details of specifications as needed. 10% * Gains an in-depth understanding of the Epic data model and determines data structures that benefits the entire reporting environment. 20% * Applies proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve report issues to maximize system potential. 10% * Prioritizes and implements requested reports and changes and analyzes new functionality in releases to determine how it should be used. 5% * Maintains regular communication with Epic representatives and works with the Epic representatives and GHS' end user community to ensure the system meets the organization's needs. 5% * Provides end user support during implementation; able to serve as a report expert to assist in application roll-out. 5% * Clearly documents all reports with Report Name, use, owner, purpose, specifications, database, data fields and other pertinent data points necessary to create a report databank. 5% Supervisory/Management Responsibilities This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive. Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree - computer science, management information, healthcare or a related field Minimum Experience 1 year - related experience in a business, operations, computer science or clinical field/setting Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses EPIC CERTIFICATION - C066 Specific Acceptable Credentials (if applicable) Epic certification as required by the position - one ofthe following: Clarity Data Model "Module" Certification Clarity Data Model - Intermediate "Module" Certification Universe Design Fundamentals Certification Clarity Administration Certification Caboodle Administration Certification Cogito Data Warehouse Certification Caboodle Data Model Certification Caboodle Development Certification Cogito Project Manager Certification Radar Certification Reporting Workbench Certification Qlik Sense Business Analyst Certification Qlik Sense Data Architect Certification Qlik Sense System Administrator Certification In lieu of the Above Minimum Requirements In lieu of the educational and experience requirements noted above, an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Management Information, Healthcare, or other related field of study and 3 years related experience in a business, operations, computer science, or clinical field/setting; OR a High School Diploma and 5 years related experience in a business, operations, computer science, or clinical field/setting may be considered.
