Description GAI Consultants is seeking a CAD Operator. This position will support transportation design professionals in the development of contract plans and work out of our Orlando, FL office. The successful candidate will perform CAD work and simple design tasks on transportation projects throughout Florida, including work on bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other miscellaneous structures. Previous exposure to MicroStation and/or AutoCAD is required. This position offers the opportunity to be involved in many types of projects, supporting our team in a wide variety of engineering design and drafting tasks. The person in this position will work under the direction of the structures CAD manager and/or senior CAD technicians. Job Duties: Prepare engineering drawings of plans, elevations, cross sections, and details of bridge structures from rough sketches and/or from general engineering design information according to established standards and procedures Create bridge plans/3D models using MicroStation OpenBridge Modeler and Connect software applications, Update and revise structure drawings (bridge, retaining wall, miscellaneous structures, etc.) Work on multiple projects through all phases of documentation Calculate quantities and create summary tables and cost estimates Support project tasks as needed Qualifications: Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience 2+ years of MicroStation experience in bridge projects Proficiency in using the current version of MicroStation OpenBridge Modeler and Connect software applications Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Candidate must demonstrate the ability to guide and manage their workload Flexible working style and willingness to modify personal schedules to meet deadlines and client needs Ability to work cooperatively with project team members in a working environment that encourages self-initiative Why GAI: At GAI, exceptional people have an exceptional place to work, grow, lead, and achieve.
