Position Summary:
Middle School & High School NJSLA Test Prep Instructor- Language Arts, NJSLA-LA 6th grade, NJSLA-LA 7th grade, NJSLA-LA 8th grade, NJSLA-LA 9th grade, NJSLA-LA 10th grade, NJSLA-LA 11th grade. Will hire individual candidates for each subject, or a candidate qualified to teach multiple NJSLA levels.

Essential Functions:
Ability to plan, organize, develop and conduct a comprehensive instructional program for students enrolled in the Talent Search Program. To conduct an integrated NJSLA Test Prep Language Arts, focusing on NJSLA Test Prep Language Arts for 6th, 7th, 8th , 9th 10th, and 11th graders, teach students learning strategies, conduct teaching and instructional activities using educational equipment, manipulative objects, props and other learning aids, prepare and submit a course outline prior to the start of the class, assist with the planning, instruction and evaluation of tutoring and problem solving activities, complete paperwork associated with classroom and project management, make recommendations on students' strength and needs, report student learning and behavioral issues to the appropriate staff personnel, to assist with the training and evaluation of Teacher Assistants, required to attend training and meetings In the event of an absence please provide 24 hour notice. Classroom work must be prepared for students and the TA must be prepared to deliver work to students in the absence of an instructor.

Additional Functions:
Transport students from one class location to another in a timely manner, ensuring proper supervision and safety of students. Must provide 24 hours notice in the event of an absence. Essential Characteristics:
Candidate should posses a high level of integrity, have experience working with minority students populations. Must be organized and assertive.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
Two or more years of teaching experience at the high school or post-secondary level, complete a background clearance check, ability to plan, organize, develop and conduct a comprehensive instructional tutoring program for students enrolled in the Educational Talent Search Program, undergraduate or graduate degree in designated discipline, experience working with minority and disadvantaged students at the middle school, high school or post-secondary level.
