General Function:

Designs and executes research, fact-finding, quantitative analysis and modeling used in analysis of opportunities, market segmentation, business plan development, and performance analysis. Engages leadership teams to design, develop, publish and maintain key performance dashboards via data visualization software (Tableau). Contributes to the W&AM Analytics team in their support of Private Bank Operations, Sales Effectiveness, Fifth Third Institutional Services and National & Regional ad hoc initiatives. Serves as a critical team member, collaborating with many internal stakeholders and applying basic understanding of business, applications, and industry requirements.

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers & colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Extracts and summarizes insights to produce useful output in the context of overall initiatives.
  • Develops a solid knowledge of the business lines, including the business plan, products, processes, and revenue streams.
  • Efficiently executes research and analytical tasks leveraging internal and external resources.
  • Ensures projects are conducted in compliance with applicable regulatory, enterprise, and functional policies, procedures, guidelines and methodologies.
  • Generates and suggests creative, well-thought-out ideas to support issue/problem diagnostics and brainstorming of potential solutions.
  • Contributes to the creation of presentation materials containing complex and challenging business issues for management and line of business executives that clearly articulate issues, conclusions and implications.
  • Effectively communicates in a concise manner and actively participates in discussions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in analytics, statistics, economics, or another analytics-related field.
  • Minimum four (4) years' experience in analytics or other related experience
  • Advanced data visualization skills with Tableau (or other related data visualization software)
  • SQL query writing and database experience preferred.
  • Ability to be highly effective in a team-oriented environment and to build relationships based on added value, not title or authority.
  • Demonstrated creative solution development, innovation, integrity, business acumen and sound judgment.
  • Strong problem resolution and analytical skills.
  • Ability to influence leaders and peers across organizational lines to take action on strategic initiatives or process changes.
  • Ability to present to senior leadership on sensitive subject matters.
  • Ability to facilitate large groups toward the development of common solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
  • Proficient in Windows based software programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio)
  • Ability to operate in an environment that stresses both individual accountability and team-based performance.
  • Possess the solid interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentation skills necessary to persuasively communicate across the organization.
