Posted: May 8, 2023
Weekly Hours: 40
Role Number: 200464569
Are you ready to carry on the iconic legacy of the Mac? Come help us lead the Mac hardware team! We are a team of system electrical engineers that own Mac products from concept to ship. We sit at the center of Apple's wider engineering team, working cross-functionally with mechanical engineering, software, silicon engineering and other module teams such as wireless, camera, sensing, display, and factory test. Our core EE responsibilities involve design of the main logic board and flex circuits in the product, along with power conditioning and distribution throughout the system. From a system perspective, we define the interfaces between tightly coupled subsystems and drive resolution of all critical issues that arise due to the coexistence of modules in the design. As a Hardware System Design and Integration Manager, you'll lead a team of HW engineers to design next generation Mac products! You'll drive innovative system level partitioning from concept investigation, to architecture, and design, thru successful product level implementation. The position empowers you to champion technical roadmaps, where you'd be expected to analyze key systems engineering architectural and implementation trade-offs. This role requires strong communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills. You will have the opportunity to lead other engineers for the best standards, methodologies, and practices in systems development and institutionalized processes. You will regularly interact with executives, cross-functional teams, and external partners. Critical interactions include with the program management organization to ensure goals are regularly reviewed and updated as details evolve.

  • You should have direct experience with consumer products system architecture and design.
  • Candidate will need deep knowledge of analog and digital electrical circuits including silicons.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills and ability to guide critical decisions
  • You'll need good understanding of thermals, mechanical, and packaging challenges.
  • Must possess knowledge of high volume manufacturing technologies and production variance.
  • Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging, functional verification, and manufacturing support is required, as is experience creating and influencing system specification documents.
  • Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail will be necessary in this role.
  • Ideal candidate has working experience with computers or embedded devices using SoCs.
