The Tractor Product Engineer, Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) is responsible for creating new product component, sub-system and vehicle designs, drawings and bill of materials associated with ag tractors. Will analyze field and factory feedback to continuously improve product by implementing design solutions that improve warranty, improve manufacturing, reduce cost, or add features.



Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

    Develop designs, layouts, and drawings in support of electrification of agricultural tractor product line.
  • Vehicle performance, Kinematic and ballast analysis
  • Design responsibility for overall tractor chassis, responsible to allocate vehicle system space claim to sub-system teams
  • Collaborate with sub-system teams to integrate component and sub-system designs into vehicle master model including tolerance stack analysis
  • Create test requests and shop work orders to support design development and quality verification activity
  • Analyze data and apply statistical problem-solving techniques to determine root cause and resolve field, lab and production problems supporting successful product development cycle.
  • Contribute to the improvement of engineering design processes
  • Develop and support the execution of current product development plans consistent with meeting product line objectives.
  • Apply appropriate engineering techniques and considerations of manufacturing processes and technology to produce innovative and efficient design solutions considering applicable safety and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Analyze and supervise costs of completed designs with product cost management
  • Work effectively with Supplier Quality/Manufacturing to ensure designs are efficient for manufacturing and able to meet quality requirements

The annual salary for this role is $88,000 - $139,000 plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Agricultural or Automotive Engineering or relevant subject area with 6 or more years of experience in designing offroad equipment.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%.

OR

  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Agricultural or Automotive Engineering or relevant subject area with 4 or more years of experience in designing offroad equipment.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional experience in mechanical, agricultural, automotive, and/or electrical engineering positions
  • Experience in development and launch of electrified vehicle
  • Experience using CREO, TeamCenter or other 3D modeling software
  • Experience in farming applications, agronomic practices, and general farm machinery operation.
  • Proven leadership skills with examples of driving activities to completion with demonstrated ability to work within a group to accomplish goals
  • Knowledge of 7-step problem solving methodology and other root cause analysis tools
  • Previous mobile vehicle (on or off-road) structural design experience
