Institutional Giving Officer Summary: This position will assist in planning and implementing the Museum's efforts to secure funding from corporations, foundations, and federal and state agencies including grants and sponsorships for exhibitions, educational programs, events, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and access initiatives. Position will be responsible for managing an annual corporate giving program; working with a group of executive volunteers; researching, writing, and reporting on corporate grants and sponsorships; monitoring grant-funded projects throughout the year; preparing and submitting reports to funders; manage benefit fulfillment, recognition, promotional, or contractual obligations associated with assigned gifts. This position will be responsible for building and maintaining excellent relationships with Museum supporters and providing stewardship of current and potential funders. Position must work effectively across multiple Museum departments to research projects for sponsorship and grant proposals and reports. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Emphasis in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, humanities, or related fields preferred. Prefer three to five years of fundraising experience with a demonstrated track record of achieving defined revenue goals and of securing five-and six-figure gifts; with grant writing and management experience. Position requires strong written and verbal communication skills to prepare and distribute business materials, proposals, reports, and presentations that convey information effectively and make a compelling case for support. Must have an ability to work in a team environment and effectively handle multiple tasks. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel. Knowledge of Raiser's Edge, Mailchimp, and WordPress or similar software are preferred. This position requires working frequent nights and weekends and occasional local daytime travel. A relevant writing sample (such as a solicitation letter, and a grant or sponsorship proposal) will be requested.
