Job Description Summary

The Assignments Coordinator is a full-time, twelve-month position reporting directly to the Assignments Manager. The Assignments Coordinator works closely with other professionals in the administration and management of a comprehensive residence life and housing program that serves 4000+ on-campus students. The Assignments Coordinator has responsibility for the general administration and coordination of room assignments and meal plans.

Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Manages new and continuing student housing assignments

  • Oversee all room change processes - working closely with the Assignments Manager on system/portal needs

  • In conjunction with the Assignments Manager, manage all block housing assignments

  • Coordinate with the Assignments Manager on administrative aspects of the Housing Accommodation Review Committee (HARC)

  • Manages student assignments for recommended disability-related accommodations

  • Manage the department's service and emotional support animal processes.

  • Manages meal plans, including additions and changes as needed

  • Coordinate and serve on the Meal Plan Appeals Committee

  • Responsible for maintaining accurate student records in StarRez with particular attention to departing/returning students

  • Assists in StarRez database maintenance and training.

  • Solves problems and provides consultation to parents and students on concerns associated with room assignments, charges, meal plans, etc.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to work with complex software systems while showcasing an attention to detail

  • Ability to communicate with a variety of constituents, both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to organize workflow and coordinate projects and processes

  • Ability to think critically and preempt problems whenever possible

  • Ability to communicate policy, process, and procedures

  • Ability to work weekends and evenings as required

  • Associate's degree plus one to two years of experience or related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

  • Experience in higher education and/or student housing preferred.

  • Familiarity with StarRez, student housing software, preferred.

Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for own work only.
