Location: US Remote What you'll need: BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent professional experience 3+ years of leadership experience 5+ years of designing, developing, and shipping high-quality mobile software at scale 5+ years professional experience with React.js and/or React Native Significant involvement in the creation of at least one commercial React Native application, available on the app store(s) with real users Practical knowledge of mobile application architecture Strong experience with mobile UI design principles, patterns, and best practices Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements Experience working asynchronously on a remote, distributed team Strong attention to detail, planning, and organization Experience communicating with high-level stakeholders and executing large initiatives Passionate about fostering good engineering practices and processes Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and shifting priorities Strong verbal and written communication skills in-person and utilizing a team communication tool like Slack and navigate with ease in leadership, mentoring, influencing and presentation situations. Experience with Git source control and JIRA Ability to balance detail-oriented work with important project deadlines Nice to Have: Professional experience with other JavaScript frameworks (Vue, Angular, Node) Experience with TypeScript Experience integrating with native device functionality and frameworks Experience with other mobile development tools, including native iOS, native Android, Flutter, or other cross-platform tools Build automation, CI/CD App store submission experience About the job: We're looking for a Mobile Architect who will play a key hands-on role in shaping the architectural road map of our mobile applications and to ensure that the overall application architecture suitably fits the business problem, for now and for the future. As a Mobile Architect at GasBuddy, you will enjoy delivering software used by millions of drivers, making an impact on the performance and experience of the app, and staying up to date with the latest technologies. What you'll do: Work on a small team implementing practical solutions for large-scale problems, as well as everyday quality of life issues to support our app and websites Lead the architectural and engineering decisions involved in delivering mobile applications via React Native to Android and iOS users Work on a small team to deliver mobile app experiences for new GasBuddy initiatives; create UI and interface with our backend servers Collaborate with Product Management and Product Design in various stages of the product development life cycle Dig into project requirements and provide task time estimates Help manage beta programs for our new projects Ensure code quality, organization, and automation in our React Native code bases Participate in code reviews to ensure code delivered aligns to agreed-upon principles, design, etc., and satisfies the stated business need Maintain consistent and concise communication with team members, squads, and stakeholders Research industry trends and best practices and develop recommendations of technologies and methods to stakeholders at all levels Why PDI Technologies?
