Clinical Dentist, Part-Time-Dental Hygiene Clinic

Essential Job Functions

• Examination of Clinic Patients.
• Diagnosis of oral and dental diseases, including the use of dental radiographs.
• Administration of local anesthesia and/or supervising student administration.
• Palliative and/or Emergency Treatment.
• Referral of patients to their general dentists, dental specialists, medical specialists or other supportive specialists.
• Documentation of findings, recommendations, examination, diagnosis, treatment and referral procedures.
• Authorization of treatment and/or modifications of treatment based upon findings and diagnosis.
• Teaching/instruction in the description and identification of anatomical parts, oral lesions, periodontal conditions, radiographic findings, other treatments as needed.
• Consultation to clinic patients, students, dental hygiene instructors, support staff.
• Weekly monitoring of emergency supplies and equipment.

Minimum Requirements

• DDS or DMD degree. If hired, certified official transcript is required.
• Current IL dental license.
• Must successfully complete a criminal background check with fingerprinting.
