The Student Academic Services Specialist will support the three programs (Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, and Teaching Assistant) under Student Academic Services. This position will report to the Director of Student Academic Services while working with the Coordinators of each program to help manage the day-to-day operations. This position will collaborate with other campus constituents and entities to identify innovative models of academic support that will best meet the needs of MSU Denver students. The Student Academic Services Specialist will participate in relevant University and community activities designed to support student retention at MSU Denver. The Student Academic Services Specialist will participate in relevant University and community activities designed to support student retention at MSU Denver. Duties/ResponsibilitiesGeneral Program Administration: (20%) Marketing and Communication: (10%)
The Specialist will create innovative and collaborative ways to help promote and brand the Student Academic Services department. This collaboration may include speaking or presenting to students, departments, and faculty. The Specialist will be responsible for creating and updating program websites throughout the semester as needed. Professional Development and Other Duties as Assigned: (5%)
Required Qualifications
The Specialist will remain current with regard to trends and developments in higher education and academic support programs through self-directed professional reading, the development of professional contacts with colleagues, attendance at professional development courses/ conferences, and trainings. The Specialist will represent the interests of the Student Academic Services Department and will perform additional duties as assigned by the Director, including but not limited to service on various University committees/task forces related to student retention and academic support issues and/or event planning.
This is a hybrid position designed to support flexibility with both in-office work, as well as some remote schedules. Salary for Announcement The salary range for this position is $41,200 - $61,800. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, training, and qualifications.
