The Role

We are seeking an experienced Digital Solution Architect to join our team at PACCAR. As a key member of our IT team, the Digital Solution Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud platforms including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), Snowflake, Confluent, and Aviatrix.

In this role, you will design and architect business driven services and platforms that leverage the latest technologies to deliver innovative solutions. You will solve real business problems in the areas of streaming analytics, IOT and automotive connectivity. This role interacts directly with business leaders to determine the capabilities Digital needs to build and with the engineers that will be building it.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in at least of the data, information, application, infrastructure, or technical architecture domains. A background in Python and DevOps is highly desired. The candidate should also have experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and be familiar with the AWS Well-Architected framework.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design and implement cloud platforms including GCP, AWS, Snowflake, Confluent, and Aviatrix
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Manage the deployment and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, applying SRE principles
  • Ensure that all cloud platforms are secure, comply with industry standards, and follow the AWS Well-Architected framework
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and trends to continuously improve our cloud platforms
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other teams within the organization
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and risk management for cloud platform projects
Required Experience & Skills
  • At least 5 years of experience in data, information, application, infrastructure, and technical architecture
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, Snowflake, Confluent, and Aviatrix
  • Strong understanding of Python and DevOps
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
Preferred Experience
  • Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and the AWS Well-Architected framework
  • Experience in the development and rollout of technical operations processes and new services
  • Experience automating software deployments and following a continuous delivery and deployment model
  • Experience with DNS, DHCP, SSH, HTTP, TCP/IP and other common network protocols
  • Experience with system analysis and troubleshooting in large-scale Linux environment
  • Experience with database technology, both relational and NoSQL
  • Experience with RESTful API design and development, including API definition, lifecycle management, contract or consumer first development, and authentication with OIDC or SAML
  • Working knowledge of agile development methods
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Certificates in AWS, GCP or Azure appreciated
