Job Description:

The Global Data Office is responsible for protecting and governing Data across SVB in compliance with all global and local laws/ regulations. Its mission is to transform the company to be a data-driven powerhouse where data & insights power every critical decision to improve Customer & Employee Experience, drive Profitable Revenue Growth, and Optimize Overall Costs.

The Data Governance Analyst will work in the Data Governance, Risk and Controls team and will be responsible for implementing, supporting, and maintaining the data governance program within the bank, ensuring that data is accurate, complete, and reliable. This is a highly visible role that requires a solid understanding of data governance practices, data quality, data management and risk management. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, be highly analytical, and have the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the bank.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor adherence to data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to identify and resolve data quality issues.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support data owners and stewards in maintaining data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage.
  • Create and deliver data governance training materials to educate stakeholders on data governance policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain data governance metrics and reports to measure the effectiveness of the data governance program.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support data governance initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in data governance, data management or data quality.
  • Familiarity with data management frameworks, such as DCAM, and data quality frameworks, such as DQAF.
  • Knowledge of financial services and regulatory compliance requirements, such as BCBS 239, GDPR and CCPA.
  • Experience with data analysis, metadata and data profiling tools, such as SQL, Collibra or Informatica.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Professional certification in data governance or data management, such as CDMP or DGSP, is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of data quality concepts and the ability to develop data quality metrics and reporting.
  • Experience in the financial services industry is highly desirable.

Base Pay:

$67,238.00 - $126,072.00

Actual starting base pay will be determined on skills, experience, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
