Job Description:

SVB is embarking on a journey to transform its enterprise data governance capabilities through best-in-class practices that align with industry standards. SVB's Data Governance, Risk and Control (DGRC) team sits within the Global Data Office (GDO) and will be responsible for providing data governance activities to the enterprise through policy, standards, guidelines and tooling to support enterprise activities such as data cataloging, critical data elements definitions, data life cycle, data quality, data risks and data controls.

The Data Quality Issue Analyst will report directly to the Data Quality (DQ) Lead (Managing Director). The analyst will play a crucial part in supporting the design and implementation of a comprehensive enterprise data quality program to manage risk, reduce operational costs, automate manual processes, consolidate redundant systems, minimize reconciliation, and enhance business opportunities. This vital role will focus on building and implementing a sustainable, centralized issue management system. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the global and divisional data community to enhance SVB's data quality capabilities including the DQ framework, DQ issue management and remediation, and DQ tooling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop SVB DQ technology/tooling strategy and implementation
  • Establish, maintain, and enforce enterprise DQ policies, standards, and procedures
  • Support divisional data offices in implementation of DQ issue management procedures
  • Coordinate change management efforts and align approach, communications, and execution of change efforts with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support management of DQ defect process including issue management, prioritization, and reporting
  • Develop and/or assist with developing plans for delivery of initiatives. Acquire and publish progress against plans
  • Support Head of Data Quality in preparation of board, executive committee, and external stakeholder presentations, coordinating across the team for input
  • Provide nimbleness to be able to address pressing business issues that need immediate attention and provide independent, informed, candid insight, including on-the-ground feedback
  • Develop solid understanding of expectations of large financial institutions (LFI) and ensure compliance with Industry Best Practices

Knowledge & Experience:

  • 3+ years experience in Data Governance, Risk, and Compliance
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline, such as economics, finance, mathematics or statistics, with an excellent academic record. Masters degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of Industry frameworks and Best Practices (e.g., DCAM (Data Capability Assessment Model), CDMC)
  • Experience in data management and data quality in a banking environment
  • Preferred experience in design and implementation of enterprise DQ capabilities in a banking environment
  • Knowledge of industry standard DQ technology/tools for DQ monitoring and issue management
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking skills, ability to exercise good judgment and solve problems quickly and effectively
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment while embracing our values of empathy, diversity, responsibility, integrity, and innovation

Base Pay:

$67,238.00 - $126,072.00

Actual starting base pay will be determined on skills, experience, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
