Job Description:

The Global Data Office is responsible for protecting and governing Data across SVB in compliance with all global and local laws/ regulations. Its mission is to transform the company to be a data-driven powerhouse where data & insights power every critical decision to improve Customer & Employee Experience, drive Profitable Revenue Growth, and Optimize Overall Costs.

AsSr Manager, Master Data Governance & Operations, youwill lead our efforts in managing and governing critical master data across the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of master data governance procedures, managing master data operations and ensuring high data quality standards are met for master data domains. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Master Data Management (MDM) and at least 10 years of experience in managing data operations in a large organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive master data governance procedures for the bank.
  • Lead and manage a team responsible for executing and monitoring master data governance procedures including match/merge resolution and data quality defect remediation.
  • Work with business stakeholders to implement defined data standards and quality rules.
  • Collaborate with MDM product and technology teams to ensure master data is properly integrated, validated and managed across all bank systems and applications.
  • Develop and maintain master data quality metrics and reporting to monitor compliance with established data governance policies and procedures.
  • Manage and maintain data dictionaries, catalog entries and all metadata pertaining to master data elements.
  • Ensure master data is accurately maintained and that any changes or updates are appropriately managed through the organization's change control processes.
  • Collaborate with business, product, and technology teams to develop and implement master data stewardship to improve data quality and accuracy.
  • Partner with the MDM product team to refine the master data roadmap, including identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation.
  • Collaborate with other data management teams to ensure consistency in data management practices across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience in Master Data Management (MDM), data governance, and/or data operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, manage and develop a team of data professionals.
  • Excellent knowledge of data governance frameworks, methodologies, and maturity models, such as DCAM and/or DAMA-DMBOK, and experience implementing them in large organizations.
  • Solid understanding of data quality concepts and the ability to develop data quality metrics and reporting.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, data mapping, and data integration methods and technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop solutions to complex data management challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in the financial services industry is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology,financeor other quantitative field (Master's degree preferred)
  • 5+ years experience managing a team of data professionals preferred

Base Pay:

$102,150.00 - $191,532.00

Actual starting base pay will be determined on skills, experience, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
