Job Description:

SVB is embarking on a journey to transform its enterprise data governance capabilities through best-in-class practices that align with industry standards. SVB's Data Governance, Risk and Control (DGRC) team sits within the Global Data Office (GDO) and will be responsible for providing data governance activities to the enterprise through policy, standards, guidelines and tooling to support enterprise activities such as data cataloging, critical data elements definitions, data life cycle, data quality, data risks and data controls.

The Data Risk & Controls Lead will report to the Head of Data Risk and Controls and will play a crucial part in supporting the design and implementation of the Enterprise Data Risk and Control Monitoring and Reporting function for the Global Data Office. This role will be a leadership role across the Data Risk and Control team and will drive strategic business planning, communication, change management activities and coordination across and among our team for common routines and risk activities. This role will provide direction to the team and work closely with the Head of the Department to escalate and communicate direction.

This role will support associated processes for data control monitoring and reporting and partnering with various businesses and global functions to strengthen SVB's Data Controls. The Lead Analyst will support multiple leaders and assist them with the mitigation of challenges identified and the achievement of SVB's commitment to implement industry leading Data Risk and Control practices. The role will require collaboration across within the organization to drive the change and support the re-engineering of the data control framework for the enterprise, the adoption of the control framework across the enterprise and monitoring for adherence.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in data, controls or compliance related fields
  • 2+ years of experience in financial services (preferably LFI)
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in influencing matrixed cross-functional teams
  • Polished diplomacy, active listening, persuasiveness, and presentation skills to communicate changes and gain agreement, consensus, and cooperation in the face of conflicting viewpoints, resistance to change, constraints
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills and the ability to quickly break down large, sophisticated initiatives into logical, manageable work packages, tasks, and sub-tasks for execution
  • Strategic-thinking, business analysis, and process engineering skills to manage, contribute to, and foresee pitfalls in process-related deliverables
  • A proven track record to balance critical thinking with practical implementation skills
  • Experience with creating presentations and presenting to Senior Leaders and Regulatory Agencies
  • Expert in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment, working under pressure while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and deadlines

Base Pay:

$67,238.00 - $126,072.00

Actual starting base pay will be determined on skills, experience, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
