Description

American Specialty Health Incorporated is seeking a Lead, Credentials Examiner to join our Practitioner Contract Administration team. This position will expedite credentials verification of practitioners in the credentialing or recredentialing process according to department standards, accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and health plan expectations.

Remote Worker Considerations

Candidates who are selected for this position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home in a designated work area with company-provided technology equipment. This remote/WFH position requires you have a stable connection to your Internet Service Provider with the ability to participate by video in online meetings over a reliable and consistent network (minimum internet download of 50 Mbps and 10 Mbps upload speed).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible to obtain information to credential new applicants and recredential participating practitioners according to department standards.
  • Communicate complex issues with providers by mail, fax, or phone to answer questions and obtain information to update provider files.
  • Complete admin review within 48 hours from the time the credentialing examiner closes the file.
  • Minimum of complete admin review of 35 files per day.
  • Communicate with management any barriers for further support.
  • Enter data and perform research functions in Promis/PCT/SharePoint to complete each portion of the credentialing process within predetermined timelines.
  • Support credentialing team by answering questions and assisting with the resolution of issues.
  • Responsible for complying with the process in handling provider files with Corrective Action Plans.
  • Coordinating use of shared inbox for credentialing and recredentialing support.
  • Handle complex credentialing issues and priority files as determined by management.
  • Handle provider escalation calls and assessing if further escalation to management is required.
  • Train new credentials examiners and ensure training materials are up to date.
  • Monitor the credentialing process and time frames to ensure performance standards are met.
  • Track staff production and errors and prepare reports for supervisor.
  • Coaching feedback for credentials examiners on errors made.
  • Work closely with staff to identify challenges in meeting performance and production standards.
  • Educate credentials examiners regarding new policies and procedures.
  • Must complete regulatory trainings within the timeframe provided by department manager.
  • Responsible to complete credentialing or recredentialing files that require special attention and expertise.
  • Research credentialing issues by interfacing with supervisor, manager, or other departments.
  • Assist with file assignment and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Support supervisor and staff, as necessary.
  • Abide by departmental work from home expectations.
  • Prepare weekly meeting agenda's and distribute team meeting minutes.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required.
  • Typing speed must be between 45-50 wpm.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including experience with Excel.
  • A minimum of 1 year of Credentials Examiner experience.
  • Experience in all specialties both in credentialing and recredentialing.

Mobility

Primarily sedentary, able to sit for long periods of time.

Physical Requirements

Ability to speak, see and hear other personnel and/or objects. Ability to communicate both in verbal and written form. Ability to travel within the facility. Capable of using a telephone and computer keyboard. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.

Environmental Conditions

Office and/or Work-from-home (WFH) environment.

Salary Range

American Specialty Health complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate's qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $16.40 to $18.00 Hourly Wage Range.
