Job Title: Supply Service Technician

Location: Arverne/FarRockaway, NY

Starting pay at $16.00 per hour or more based on experience! We are offering a full-time new hire Vehicle Service Technicians a $500 Sign-On Bonus!

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Supply Service Technician (SST) is responsible for ensuring that all vehicles are "response ready" for the field crews coming in for their shift assignment, with the goal of reducing down time and increasing the quality and delivery of our services to the crews and our customers. The delivered product is a clean vehicle inside and outside with well stocked and functioning equipment. It is important that the product produced is maintained to the highest standard.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Drivers' License with no restrictions.
  • Must receive negative results from a NYS DOT Drug & Alcohol Pre-Employment Test.
  • Must receive negative results for NYS DOT Random Test preformed monthly (this doesn't necessarily mean your name will be picked monthly. This is managed by a third party vender and randomly done. All Transit LLC does not do or set-up the selection of testing any shape or form).
  • Perform a daily walk around inspection on all returning vehicles.
  • Sign the back of the DVIR after you have completed your walk around confirming there is no damage found before handing the DVIR to the driver.
  • Fuel all returning vehicles.
  • Track total gallons pumped by vehicle number daily and record information on the fuel sheet.
  • Sweep & mop all vehicles while at the pump.
  • Wash all returning vehicles 1 time a week. Power spray all returning vehicles to remove daily dust.
  • Park all vehicles in designated locations based on the vehicle type daily.
  • Mark where every vehicle is parked adding the vehicle number to the lineup sheet. Print clearly and neatly on all forms.
  • Return all vehicle keys to the Cash Out Room.
  • Able to pass a NYC Bureau Fire Prevention test within 2 months from the date of hire. All Transit will reimburse the cost of a PASSED TEST receipt ($25.00) and a copy of the "Certificate of Fitness - P15" card. You will be given the study booklet after 1 (one) week of employment.
  • On occasion you must be able to transport vehicles to a "breakdown driver" within the 5 boroughs, transport vehicles to a repair garage, transport vehicles when ordered to evacuate by NYCT.
  • Must be professional and appropriately dressed at all times.
  • Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform other duties required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED

Possess and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record

Possess a valid Driver's License

Ability to work under time constraints

Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

Effective interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Occasionally: Smelling, lifting 70 lbs., kneeling, stooping, bending, leaning, flexibility, multiple physical activities performed at the same time (carrying multiple equipment).

Frequently: Reading, walking inside, visual inspection.

Constantly: Hearing/listening, clear speech, simple touching, pushing, pulling, reaching, and sitting

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Frequently: Analyzing, decision making

Constantly: Simple reading and writing, simple math and writing skills, clerical, memorization, perception/computation, problem solving, judgment, reasoning.

STRESS FACTORS:

Occasionally: Hazards, fatigue

Frequently: Repetitive tasks, intense tasks, busy environment.

Constantly: High pressure.

EQUIPMENT USED:

Occasionally: Wheelchair, telephone, vacuum cleaner, cleaning equipment, protective devices, protective clothing, map reading, stapler, 3 hole punch, sharpener.

Frequently: Telephone, pager, cell phone.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Occasionally: Works alone, inside, confined areas noise other hazardous conditions (human excrement, blood, urine, mucous, tissue, and asbestos), electrical equipment, and extended day.

Constantly: Works with others, face-to-face contact, verbal contact with others, and works inside.
