We are searching for a Project Specialist Design-Construction- Senior to report to VP, Support Services or designee, and perform diversified duties related to planning, coordinating, drafting of various construction and building renovation projects across Southcoast Health.

Job Duties:



  • Maintain Joint Commission data set for the team, oversee Contractor bid list, and conduct contractor life safety training.
  • Lead X-functional teams of internal and external resources for the purpose of completing high impact transformative construction activities.
  • Challenge the team to think outside the box and deliver the highest best use scenario for all medical and non-medical space.


Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Day shift; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Location: Southcoast Business Center - Fairhaven, MA

Travel: Driving on average 3 or more times per week required

Education and/or Experience Requirements:



  • Associate degree from an accredited school in Architecture, Engineering, or other related discipline required, or the equivalent amount of combined experience and education.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical and civil engineering, practical concepts, interior design, and construction in a medical setting is required.
  • Must be able to read and understand architectural and construction plans.
  • Familiarity with hospital design, Joint Commission requirements, and Life safety protocols is required.
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal construction codes and regulations is preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, power point, excel, and scheduling software, is required.
  • Other office automation and business tools preferred.
  • The ability to oversee, schedule, coordinate and direct project activities along with weekend, off-shift, holiday, and on-call and overtime may be required.
  • Three (3) years civil engineering, architecture and construction project management is required.


Must be fully vaccinated against COVID 19 and seasonal Influenza. Must provide required vaccination documentation, unless approved for an exemption or deferral by Southcoast prior to starting employment.
