This seasonal, non-exempt, position is located at the Park Maintenance Main Shop in Andover.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Duties and Responsibilities
These examples are not all-inclusive and are intended to be illustrative of the primary responsibilities of an Anoka County Seasonal Natural Resource Technician- Firewood Crew.

  • Firewood bundler operation and maintenance.
  • Clean and organize the firewood yard.
  • Complete inventory of firewood available.
  • Assist Anoka County staff as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

  • Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
  • Ability to perform all essential position functions.
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Successfully pass a criminal historybackground check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous labor work experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed

  • Communicate effectively with other Anoka County employees.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Wear and maintain a county-issued uniform and be neatly groomed.
  • Perform assigned job duties.
  • Be punctual and present for all scheduled shifts.

Work Environment

This position will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions from May through August. Duties may be performed in extremes of weather conditions (wind, rain/snow, heat, and cold).

GRADE LEVEL

Salary
$13.00- $14.00 per hour.

Hours
Seasonal; up to 40 hours per pay week.
Varied hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, for20-40 hours per week. This may include extended hours on weekends and holidays as required.
The work schedule is typically between 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Schedule may vary based on business needs and at the supervisor's discretion.

Selection Process
