Position Summary:

Patrols campus via foot, mobile unit or bicycle to protect against illegal activities, theft, fire, vandalism, hazardous conditions, infringements, etc.

Education/Experience:

High School degree preferred. The candidate must be an employee of Broadway Services Inc. (or contracted security company) and have one (1) year of security experience at Howard County General Hospital or on a Johns Hopkins Medical Campus

Knowledge/Skills:

General Job Knowledge - Demonstrates knowledge of techniques, procedures, use of equipment and Hospital and departmental policies necessary for job performance.
Patrols HCGH campus via foot, mobile unit or bicycle to protect against activities, theft, fire, vandalism, hazardous conditions, infringements, etc.
Properly prepare for and attend roll calls.
Maintain technical expertise on all aspects of the equipment and procedures for the job.
Provide a professional security and customer-oriented service for all employees and visitors.
Responds to all critical incidents occurring on campus. Verifies that all appropriate policies, procedures and guidelines were followed. Utilizes experience, training and knowledge to resolve security and/or customer service issues.
Remain vigilant to prevent criminal activity by constantly observing or patrolling in keeping with the post orders on a daily basis.
Monitor alarms and CCTV systems in keeping with standard operating procedures by responding when necessary.
All reports are prepared in an efficient and timely manner. Conduct preliminary investigations when necessary and prepare written reports for timely submission
